The Center for the Revival of Heritage Organizes a Celebration on the Occasion of Al-Daad Day

The Manuscripts Department at the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage / University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar on the morning of Thursday, 18 December 2025, at 10:00 a.m., entitled “World Arabic Language Day”, attended by a distinguished group of researchers and academics specializing in the Arabic language. The event was held in Professor Nabila Abdul Moneim Dawood Hall in celebration of the scholarly and cultural significance of the Arabic language. The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Saleh Mahdi and moderated by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Jamal Norouz, both faculty members of the Center. The seminar opened with a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Farah Ghanem Saleh from the College of Education for Women / Department of Arabic Language, who spoke about the importance of the Arabic language in shaping cultural identity, reinforcing intellectual belonging, and preserving inherited Arab customs and traditions. This was followed by a lecture from Lecturer Dr. Alia Nafi’ Kafi from the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering / University of Baghdad, highlighting the role of Arabic in the production of knowledge throughout the ages and its contribution to global intellectual presence. She described the language as a story of letters, sounds, and belonging.

Next, Lecturer Dr. Liqaa Al-Sharifi, a faculty member at the Center, presented on the Arabic Language Festival in China, emphasizing its role in fostering cultural understanding between the two peoples, reflecting a long history of cultural and religious exchange. The sessions concluded with a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Alaa Yaseen Mahmoud from the College of Education for Women / Department of Arabic Language, discussing the development of the Arabic language, its connection to artificial intelligence, contemporary issues related to preserving linguistic integrity in educational institutions and media, and strategies to support youth in using proper Arabic in daily life. This event is part of a series of annual scientific activities organized by the Center to revive heritage and preserve the Arab linguistic and cultural legacy. At the conclusion of the seminar, the Center’s administration thanked the researchers, wishing them continued success in service of the University of Baghdad and beloved Iraq.
