The Center for the Revival of Heritage Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Women’s Rights and Ways to Protect Them
Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Laith Majeed Hussein, the Director of the Center, Assistant instructor Juman Adnan Hussein, a member of the Women’s Affairs Liaison at the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Confronting Harassment: Women’s Rights and Ways to Protect Them” on Monday May 18, 2026, The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and those interested in academic affairs and human rights, and was held in the Professor Nabila Abdul-Munim Dawood Hall at the center.
The seminar began with a welcoming address by the Liaison, who emphasized the importance of raising societal awareness of women’s rights and promoting a safe and supportive environment for them within educational and community institutions.
The seminar included several sessions and scholarly presentations instructor Rasha Falih Mustafa, Director of the Continuing Education Center at the University Presidency, presented a research paper addressing the reality of women, their rights, and the necessity of strengthening their role in society. Professor Dr. [Name Missing] also spoke. Asmaa Jamil Rashid, Head of the Human Rights Division at the University of Baghdad, discussed the legal and humanitarian aspects of protecting women and ways to reduce harassment.
Assistant Professor Dr. Liqaa Shaker Al-Sharifi, a faculty member at our center, also participated with a scholarly presentation addressing the importance of cultural and academic awareness in establishing concepts of respect for women and safeguarding their rights.
The seminar witnessed discussions and interventions that emphasized the necessity of concerted academic and institutional efforts to disseminate a culture of respect for women’s rights and to confront negative phenomena that affect their status and role in society.
In conclusion, the center’s administration thanked the speakers by presenting them with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in service to university and to great Iraq.
