Sponsored by of Professor Dr. Alaa Nafi Jassim, Director of the Center, the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific symposium entitled (Women in Leadership Perspective) which held on Wednesday , 31/1/ 2024, in the hall of Professor Nabila Abdel Moneim in the center, The symposium was opened with a recitation. Fragrant from the wise remembrance, reciting the national anthem, and standing to recite the Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of the righteous martyrs. The first research by Dr. Yusra Karim Mohsen Al-Alaq, Director General of the National Department for Iraqi Women in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, entitled (Supporting Women’s Political Participation) as a speaker. The National Department for Iraqi Women has distinguished experience in the field of supporting and enhancing the political participation of Iraqi women in decision-making through its work to increase participation in the legislative elections for the year (2021), the results of which were to raise the level of Iraq’s classification in the percentage of women’s participation in legislative bodies. At the global level, Al-Alaq added that there are major goals for women leaders The first goal: reviewing the frameworks and procedures adopted by institutions to enhance women’s political participation in elections Second goal: Providing legal protection for women in elections and protecting them from all types of violence during elections Third goal: Increase societal understanding and raise awareness regarding the importance of women’s political participation Fourth goal: Developing women’s capabilities for political work and effective participation Then A.M.D. searched. Arwad Muhammad Malik / College of Political Sciences / University of Baghdad, and the title of her research is (The importance of successful leadership qualities of women), speaking that women are a human resource shining with talents and abilities, as they are the second half of society, as they are distinguished by their strength in managing social and humanitarian activities. Alaa Ali Majeed / National Center for Population and Demographic Studies / University of Baghdad, and the title of her research is (Social Empowerment of Women Leaders), speaking that the academic qualification of women has strongly helped their presence in the world of work and the formation of their professional path in light of the presence of obstacles related to the social environment, customs, norms and traditions.
