A group of the fifth stage students /college of political sciences –university of Baghdad and they had received by the director of the center prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim and Mrs. Rusul Hashem Al-hamam the responsible of media unit , they toured in center’s department They viewed a variety of heritage exhibits, including old collectibles and photos documenting Baghdad’s ancient history and historical figures and figures since its inception. They also listened to an explanation from the center’s director about the history of each piece and its cultural importance. They also visited the center’s library and museum, and the students expressed their admiration for the cultural heritage and introducing the new generation to the importance of preserving it. In conclusion, the center’s director thanked the students for this visit, which has had a positive impact on spreading the heritage culture, wishing them continued success.

According to invitation of ministry of higher education and scientific research a Women’s Affairs head in the center of heritage revival /university of Baghdad assist prof. Dr. Rasha Essa Fares and a connectiong member Miss Enas Gareeb  participated in Celebration announcing the launch of the National Plan for Women, Security and Peace, under the slogan (With their giving we rise)

The center of heritage revival organizes scientific symposium

Under the supervision by prof, D. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center) , the center of heritage revival / university of Baghdad organizes scientific symposium) entitled (The leadership of clinical psychology and its impact on mental health care between heritage and modernity)in Nabila A. Dawood hall in the center on Wednesday 23rd/4/2025 he lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ashraf Muwaffaq Falih, Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University (PBUH). He spoke about the psychological reality in Iraq resulting from the accumulation of wars, displacement, conflicts and poverty, and the resulting significant increase in the rates of psychological disorders, most notably: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. He pointed out that these phenomena have become a real challenge to development and societal stability. He also emphasized that the clinical psychologist is the scientifically and professionally qualified element to conduct accurate assessments, provide effective non-drug therapeutic interventions and contribute to the formulation of national policies for mental health. He also pointed out that the Iraqi health system suffers from a severe shortage of psychological cadres, which requires the integration of clinical psychology graduates into the treatment team to fill the growing gap in psychological services, especially in light of the increasing need for specialized psychological care. Dr. Haider Kamel Mahdi, Head of the Department of Behavioral Rehabilitation for Autism, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University (PBUH), spoke about the growing importance of mental health globally, especially in the Iraqi context, which suffers from complex psychological crises as a result of wars, terrorism, and displacement. He added that clinical psychology and the role of the clinical specialist in assessment, diagnosis, and specialized psychological treatment, stressing the difference between it and psychological counseling. He also touched on the vital role of specialists in preventing psychological disorders, supporting those affected by crises, and promoting general mental health, emphasizing the importance of integration between mental and physical health. The symposium concluded with a research paper by the lecturer, Dr. Marwa Jamil Ahmed, College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, presenting recommendations, including developing laws, expanding the powers of the psychologist and their role in official institutions, supporting clinical specialties, combating societal stigma, and encouraging scientific research in the psychological field. In conclusion, the Director of the Center thanked the researchers, wishing them continued success

Under the supervision by prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center of heritage revival) the center of heritage revival organized workshop entitled (worldly heritage in Iraq –conception and importance) where sited on the Nabila A. Almunam hall in the center presence by number of students from college of education for girls on Wednesday 21st/4/2025 , the lecture is presented by Mr. Ahmad Hashim Ibraheem (the chief of studying department- The Department of Studies and Research and the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage who spoke about the historical overview of the World Heritage approved by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and aims to protect sites of global value, whether natural or cultural, and how to preserve the most important archaeological sites in Iraq, such as the Erbil Citadel, which is considered one of the most important archaeological collections and beautiful landmarks. He also mentioned that World Heritage is an influential element in identity, culture and the environment. It is the memory of humanity throughout the ages and a factor in attracting tourists and contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. It is used as an educational tool to enhance the understanding of history and arts. Therefore, protecting heritage is a shared human duty. The lecturer added that among the sites announced on the preliminary list are the ancient city of Samarra and the ancient city of Babylon, among the archaeological cities included in the World Heritage. In conclusion, the Director of the Center thanked the lecturer, wishing him continued success.

(the historical maps and its importance in studying geographical heritage)

Under the supervision of prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center of heritage revival) , the center of heritage revival/university of Baghdad organized seminar entitled (the historical maps and its importance in studying geographical heritage) , the lecture is presented by assist instructor Wasan Adil Abdul Wahab (one of the center’s members) where sited in Nabila A. Dawood hall in the center on Wednesday 21st/4/2025 who talks about the role that Arabs had done Travelers to the corners of the globe describe the natural and human phenomena in every inhabited place they visit. They give a complete description of every phenomenon in the places they visit and record these phenomena on a map that they draw to become a speaking guide that Arab explorers and travelers can use to find their way. It has remained an important geographical heritage for all ages. Arabs called the map the image, the geographical photographer, or the drawing board. The researcher added that maps are not just old drawings, but rather windows into the past that help us understand the present and anticipate the future by analyzing the development of place and people over time. The lecture included several interventions related to the subject of maps. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the researcher, wishing her continued success and guidance

Under the supervision by prof, Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center) ,the syntactic sciences department in the center of heritage revival /university of Baghdad organized scientific symposium entitled (the environmental treatments to design buildings between heritage and contemporary) where sited in Nabila A. Dawood hall on Wednesday 16th/4/2025 , the lecture is chaired by assist instructor Walaa Dhia Nsaif in the center , the first lecture contained participant research by prof. Dr. Kareem Hasan Alwan (the dean of civil and regional planning center of higher studies ) / university of Baghdad and Enas Dhia Hadi (a lecturer at the civil and regional planning center in the university of Baghdad The research on heritage has yielded an inexhaustible wealth for each place according to what it contains, whether it is a physical or cultural heritage and what it carries of memories, meanings and cultures that appeared according to the chronological sequence of civilizations and the most important environmental treatments that focus on heritage buildings in hot, dry areas and what they include of treatments that may be formal at the level of facades FORM or detailed at the level of building details DETAILS to achieve thermal comfort and that the goal is to preserve heritage buildings from external environmental influences in addition to benefiting from previous experiences in finding environmental solutions that contribute to preserving the heritage legacy. The researcher added several environmental treatments, including formal environmental treatments at the level of facades and detailed environmental treatments – at the level of design and planning details and environmental treatments – reviewing experiences of heritage elements and environmental treatments – reviewing experiences of heritage cities that include contemporary treatments and then research M.M. Dr. Wasan Adel Abdel Wahab, a lecturer at our center titled (Protecting Heritage Buildings from the Risks of Climate Change), spoke about heritage buildings of distinctive value and how to preserve them and prevent them from being exposed to the risks of traditional or extreme nature resulting from climate change. These works and pre-emptive measures can be called preventive maintenance, which can be applied at the level of the heritage building or at the level of its urban environment. She also mentioned that preventive maintenance primarily focuses on implementing control work and accurate, periodic, non-destructive inspection of all architectural elements. The symposium also recommended adopting sustainable building materials that ensure ease of sustainability, the necessity of raising environmental awareness among city users, encouraging the concepts of urban agriculture, clarifying the importance of the Environmental Protection Law and the Antiquities Protection Law for users of heritage buildings, trying to link them, and including green education curricula in schools and universities to address climate problems. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the researchers, wishing them continued success in serving our university and great Iraq.

According to instructions of the presidency of the university of Baghdad ,under the supervision of the prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center ) the woman affairs section in the university of Baghdad organized awareness workshop where sited in Nabila A. Dawood hall in the center on Tuesday 15th/4/2025 , the lecture is presented by Dr. Fudhla Saadon Alzubaidi /health center / university of Baghdad who talked about Regarding first aid, which plays a vital role in saving lives and reducing complications before the arrival of specialized medical assistance, the goal of which is to save lives and preserve the condition of the injured person. Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of learning the basics, such as dealing with bleeding, CPR, and dealing with suffocation. It is recommended to remain calm, quickly call the emergency services, and use the correct first aid techniques to ensure an effective and safe response in emergency situations. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked those in charge.

Under the supervision by prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center) , the center of heritage revival organizes workshop entitled organized seminar entitled (youth drug addiction and ways to combat it)in the hall of the center on Monday 14th/4/2025 , The session was chaired by the Head of Academic Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rasha Issa Faris, and the first lecture was given by Asst. Prof. Hind Amer Fadel, a lecturer at our center, who spoke about youth drug addiction as one of the most dangerous phenomena threatening societies, as it leads to the deterioration of physical and mental health. Unemployment, family disintegration, and emotional emptiness push many youth to use drugs as an escape from reality. This negatively affects their behavior and future and may push them to commit crimes. The researcher emphasized the importance of continuous awareness and the effective role of the family, educational, and religious institutions. Then, the researcher Asst. Prof. Zainab Jamal Nowrouz, a lecturer at our center, spoke about ways to treat young people from drugs by acknowledging the problem and the desire to change, followed by medical and psychological treatment in specialized centers. Recovery includes psychological support sessions, awareness of the dangers of addiction, and continuous follow-up to avoid relapse. The family also plays an important role in supporting the recovering person psychologically and socially. The researcher emphasized the contribution of sports and educational activities in reintegrating them into society and building a sound, healthy life. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the researchers, wishing them continued success in serving our university and great Iraq.
