Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassem, Director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, and in cooperation with the Center for Women’s Studies, the Women Empowerment Unit at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, on Tuesday morning, 31/5/2022, sited in the center’s hall with the presence of a number of professors and researchers, a workshop entitled (soft and light minds in the university and at home)
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Sundus Zeidan Khalaf, the teaching assistant in our center, the first research of Assistant Professor Dr. Athraa Ismail Zeidan, (Director of the Center for Women’s Studies) at the University of Baghdad. It dealt with prominent names in the field of medicine, engineering, sports, art, economy and literature, as each of them has a role in their field and specialization, and also dealt with the beginning of the establishment of women’s organizations and unions in Iraq and the role of women in advancing their reality through legislation and laws, the platform for women.
Then followed by the research of assis.prof. Dr. Saba Hussein Mawla is a teacher at the Center for Women’s Studies and the title of research which is (Zaha Hadid, the educational and social aspect of her progressing), where she talked about her birth in Baghdad and received her education until completing her secondary education. Through her engineering designs around the world, and in light of this, her professor Koolhaas described her performance during her last two years at college as a slow-moving missile before rising in the sky and taking an accelerating trajectory.
This was followed by the research of Dr. Zainab Abdul-Mahdi, teaching at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Baghdad, and the title of her research (Palm in my country, Dr. Hayat Sharara), where she highlighted in her paper the life of Dr. Hayat Sharara, who is a professor of Russian literature at the University of Baghdad, where she was born in 1935 in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf and studied Russian literature in Russia and returned to Iraq to practice her work at the University of Baghdad and being a persistent teacher in her field of work, then she left quietly as she entered our lives quietly.
Then, Prof. Dr. Shaima Majid Al-Haboubi, a teacher at the Center for Women’s Studies, discussed the title of her research (Immortal Women from My Country, Dr. Al-Naziha Al-Dulaimi as a Model), speaking about the life of Dr. Al-Dulaimi, who was born in 1924 in Al-Baroudi locality in Baghdad and completed her studies until she was accepted into medical colleges. The monarchy and its successful completion and practicing the medical profession as well as engaging in political work, and had an impact on advancing the reality of women in Iraq and demanding rights, freedoms and equality with men. President Abdul Karim Qassem, as she held the position of Minister of Municipalities

Leqaa Amer Ashour, a teacher at the revival heritage Center, and the title of her research is (Zahida Ibrahim, the pioneer of libraries in Iraq), who talked about as an Iraqi figure who had a prominent role in the field of libraries, even though she was a human rights activist far from her work, which she excelled in and later became a pioneer in Libraries and information specialization. One of the most prominent institutional members of the Central Library at the University of Baghdad. To her philosophy: (There is no good in a book that is not read), she donated all her books to the Central Public Library and to other libraries.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassim, Director of the Center, presented certificates of appreciation to the participants. The chief of the center thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this workshop.
