Under the supervision by prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center ) the center of heritage revival organizes seminar entitled ( the need in Arabic literature books) where sited on the gallery of Nabila A. Dawood in the center on  Tuesday 4th/2/2025 , the lecture is presented by the Head of Manuscripts Department prof. Dr. Zainab Kamel Kareem defining the need as one of the important literary subjects Which urges good manners, deters from baseness, and encourages sound management and good judgment. Developmental psychology goes to the fact that need and want are necessary for the continuity of life, and because of the multiple motives that drive it, needs are multiple and gradual. Since need is a matter closely related to man, the Holy Quran must mention it and address it in noble verses. From our study of these verses, we find that the Quran divides human needs into material, psychological, and moral needs, and psychologists have agreed with the Holy Quran in this. The lecturer added that there are many hadiths in which we find the Messenger (peace be upon him ) urging a Muslim to fulfill the need of his Muslim brother, and other hadiths that show the benefits and virtues of the verses and surahs in fulfilling needs. Then we find that many books have been written on this topic, which is the topic of the virtues of the Qur’an, such as the book “The Virtues of the Qur’an” by Abu Ubaid al-Qasim bin Salam al-Harawi, who died in 224 AH, who addressed many topics in fulfilling needs and achieving demands.

workshop (The role of awareness in combating human trafficking)

The center of heritage revival organizes workshop (The role of awareness in combating human trafficking)

The center of heritage revival organizes workshop entitled ( the role of awareness in combating human trafficking) in the hall of the center on Monday 16th/12/2024 , the lecture is presented by the instructor Dr. Khaled Tareq Abdul Razaq / university of Baghdad / the center of international and strategy studies who talkes about  the phenomenon of human trafficking is an international one that is no longer limited to one country, but has extended to include most countries, including Iraq, and has become commercial in nature in several forms that cannot be limited, the most prominent of which is trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and the removal of human organs or for the purpose of conducting medical experiments ,forced labor , begging and others. Perhaps the motive for it is many reasons, including economic and social or because of the wars that Iraq has suffered from and the spread of corruption in addition to technological development, which led to its widespread spread in Iraq. Iraq has developed strategies to eliminate it, but they were not at the required level, as combating this phenomenon is not limited to setting legislative measures by issuing the Anti-Human Trafficking Law of 2012, which was plagued by many shortcomings in many aspects. Rather, it requires reconsidering many of the legislations that play a major role in its increase, as well as taking into account other aspects that have an effective role in achieving this, including activating the role of awareness in all fields, as it constitutes a real prevention. The issue of protecting victims should also be taken into account and, as a first step, treating them as people who deserve protection and not as criminals by providing All the components that contribute to not being exposed to threats and thus losing their rights, which may expose them to trafficking again, in addition to that, to ensure their recovery and integration into society, it is necessary to provide all the necessary assistance to achieve that. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the lecturer, wishing him continued success and prosperity in serving our distinguished university and our beloved Iraq

Participation in international conference

Prof. Dr. Wasan Hussein Mohaimeed ( in the humanity department)  participated in the sixth scientific international conference entitled ( from gendisabour to Bait Al-Hikma- reporters and Assyrian scientists in the civilization of the makers of golden Islamic era and renascence in Europe   The House of Wisdom, under the patronage of the Prime Minister’s Office, held the conference on December 18-19. She participated with her topic entitled (The Scientific Impact of Non-Muslims in the Abbasid Era/Translation as a Model), in which she discussed the translation movement in the Abbasid era and the impact of non-Muslims on it. The Abbasids did not limit their use of the expertise of non-Muslims to various state functions, such as the ministry, writing, bureaus, and medicine, but they also used them in a very important scientific movement, namely the translation movement. Non-Muslims took it upon themselves to translate many valuable books in various sciences from other languages in which they excelled into Arabic. Among the most prominent non-Muslim torchbearers of translation in the Abbasid era were the Christians of Syria and Rome. The Christians of the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula, and Iraq practiced their cultural activity since the pre-Islamic era, writing in Syriac and translating from Greek. They continued in this manner after the emergence of Islam and the establishment of the Arab Islamic state, especially in the Abbasid era, which witnessed the peak of cultural prosperity and the greatness of translation. The Abbasid caliphs paid great attention to all types of sciences, and they had a great desire to learn about the sciences and literature of other nations, which resulted in an amazing blending between Arab Islamic culture and foreign cultures.

seminar (about the characteristics of language of Ibn Ginni )

The center of heritage revival organizes seminar

(about the characteristics of language of Ibn Ginni

Sponsored by prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the director of the center ) the center organized seminar entitled (about the characteristics of language of Ibn Ginni ) on Monday 9th/12/2024 , the lecture is presented by Dr. instructor Baidaa Abdulhasan Radam who talks about Ibn Ginni Almosuli A world whose reputation spread far and wide, as he was a true genius of language in the fourth century AH. He is the Roman who became an Arab in his love for the Arabic language and his efforts to study its vast horizons. He is the revered morphologist, the local grammarian, the interpreter of language, and a bright face of the civilization of Iraq. Abu Tayeb Al-Mutanabbi said about him: “Ibn Jinni knows my poetry better than I do, and this is a man whose value is not known to many people.” As for his merit in Arabic, he was one of the most skilled people of literature and the most knowledgeable of them in the science of grammar and morphology. He wrote books on grammar and morphology in which he excelled, such as Al-Khasais, Al-Munsif, and Sirr Al-Sina’a (The Secret of the Art of Syntax). He wrote books on explaining rhymes, prosody, masculine and feminine, and other things. There was no one more perfect in any of his sciences than him in morphology, nor did anyone speak better or more precisely about it than him. As for his book Al-Khasais, it is one of the most important and famous books of Ibn Jinni in the principles of language, morphology and grammar. Perhaps what prompted him to attempt to establish these three sciences was his glorification and reverence for this language, which he boasted about to the non-Arabs, preferring it over their own language, saying: “If the non-Arabs felt the delicacy of the Arabs’ craftsmanship in this language, and what is in it of ambiguity and delicacy, they would apologize for their recognition of their language.” Al-Khasais is in three parts, edited by Professor Muhammad Ali Al-Najjar, as the book Al-Khasais is dominated by the character of investigation, diving into details, deepening analysis, and deducing principles and origins from details, according to the book’s editor. As for the reason for naming it Al-Khasais, we find in the introduction to the book Al-Khasais that he believes that his book is one of the most honorable books written in the science of the Arabs, and the most advanced in the path of analogy and contemplation, and the most comprehensive evidence for what This noble language has deposited in it the characteristics of wisdom and has been entrusted with the relationships of perfection and craftsmanship, and so on from his speech about the book, so it is considered one of the important Arabic sources; just as it is of interest to grammarians and linguists, it should be of interest to rhetoricians and literary figures. What the book contains is not limited to grammar, morphology, or the science of the origins of language and its jurisprudence only, but it goes beyond to being an inexhaustible source of the characteristics of the systems or rhetorical values that Ibn Jinni – may God have mercy on him – revealed. This is evident in his useful discussions of the styles of classical Arabic from the poetry of the ancients and his contemporaries, and from their famous sayings to deduce grammatical and morphological causes, or to establish evidence for the validity of linguistic, grammatical, critical, or expressive issues, as he said in his book Al-Khasais: “This book is not based on a discussion of the aspects of grammar, but rather it is a place of speaking about the beginnings of the origins of this speech and how it began and to what end it was directed. It is a book in which those with insight from theologians, jurists, philosophers, grammarians, writers, and literary men contribute to contemplating it and searching for its repository, as it is necessary to address everyone… A person among them, with what he is accustomed to and is familiar with, so that he may have a share of it and a portion in it. So it is a book that addresses everyone who browses it with his specialization and what he has composed of theological, jurisprudential, philosophical, grammatical, or rhetorical arguments.
