Assistant Professor Dr. Wasan Hussein Muhaymid,( The Head of the Manuscripts Department at the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage), participated in the scientific symposium entitled (Peaceful coexistence and religious diversity in heritage , era, goal ) which was held by the Iraqi University/College of Education for Girls/History Department/on Tuesday 12/12/2023, in which she presented a research entitled (Religious Tolerance with Non-Muslims in the Era of Early Islam and the Rightly Guided Caliphate), in which she indicated that religious tolerance in Islam derives its values and high moral dimensions from the Muslim constitution, the Holy Qur’an, which was embodied in practice. In the biography of the Messenger (pubh), and in accordance with his approach and commandments, the Rightly-Guided Caliphs followed in dealing with non-Muslims to whom Islam gave covenant and security, and they were part of the categories of Arab-Islamic society, namely the Jews, Christians, Sabians, and Magians whom the Qur’an has singled out for mention. They lived with Muslims as subjects of one state united by human brotherhood, and Islam, with its tolerant legislation, preserved for them their rights and freedoms, and what they have and what they owe. They are like Muslims, and I learned about the names of non-Muslims and their meaning in Islamic legislation, and then I discussed the nature of peaceful coexistence and the tolerance it contains. And kindness and mercy towards non-Muslims in the various aspects of life and its dealings, including social and economic ones, in the era of the Noble Messenger (pubh), and his Rightly Guided Caliphs, who through their conduct embodied for Muslims a good example,  and the ideal application of the principles of Islam in dialogue, coexistence, and tolerance with non-Muslims. It provided a lot of historical evidence related to its topic…
