The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage Holds a Scientific Symposium Entitled “Trade Between Heritage and Modernity“
under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Majeed Hussein, Director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, the center organized workshop entitled (Intellectual extremism and ways to treat it) in Nabila A. Almunam Dawood hall in the center on Monday 12th/5/2025 with presence by number of researchers , the lecture was given by prof. Dr. Anas Esam Ismaiel (one of the center’s members) who talked about The intensity and fighting that our contemporary reality has reached baffles rational people and astonishes the wise. In fact, intellectual fanaticism and behavioral extremism are innate in the nature of the human psyche and need to be refined through raising and educating generations on the fundamentals of true religion, placing scholars in the appropriate position for them, and through monitoring and direct supervision of educational and cultural institutions and social media sites by decision makers and honest scholars, and not leaving the reins of affairs to anyone who wants to incite fanatic thought and sedition. The workshop included several interventions and discussions. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the researcher, wishing him continued success in serving our university and great Iraq.
The department of syntactic sciencesin the center of heritage revival /university of Baghdad organized workshop entitled (Scientific plagiarism in ancient and contemporary studies)in Nabila A. Al-Munam Dawood hall in the center on Wednesday 7th/5/2025 with presence by number of researchers , The lecture was given by Professor Dr. Taha Sabti Ibraheem (one of the center’s members) who talked about the reality , types and forms of scientific plagiarism defining it as using of thoughts ,words and other works without signing to them mentioned the types of scientific plagiarism, It is complete, partial and intellectual theft. He also confirmed that the causes of theft occur from ignorance of academic rules and cheating. He also explained the ways to avoid academic theft, which are understanding academic rules, correct citation and original writing.,
Under the direct assignment of Professor Dr. Alaa Nafie Jassim,( Director of the Center), the Center’s Media and Government Communication Unit organized an awareness campaign on Wednesday ,April 30TH , 2025, to define autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the university’s campuses. The campaign explained to students how to help those affected by the condition, how to cooperate with them, and how to guide them to departments and specialties related to the autism spectrum disorder
A group of the fifth stage students /college of political sciences –university of Baghdad and they had received by the director of the center prof. Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim and Mrs. Rusul Hashem Al-hamam the responsible of media unit , they toured in center’s department They viewed a variety of heritage exhibits, including old collectibles and photos documenting Baghdad’s ancient history and historical figures and figures since its inception. They also listened to an explanation from the center’s director about the history of each piece and its cultural importance. They also visited the center’s library and museum, and the students expressed their admiration for the cultural heritage and introducing the new generation to the importance of preserving it. In conclusion, the center’s director thanked the students for this visit, which has had a positive impact on spreading the heritage culture, wishing them continued success.
