Jasim (the director of the center) , the center of heritage revibval organizes seminar entitled (begging phenomenon in Baghdad and its social reflection) on Monday 10th/6/2023 where sited on the gallery of Nabila A. Dawood presented by numbers of professors , it is presented by dr. Rasha essa fares (one of the center’s professors ) who talked about begging phenomenon defined a beggar is the person who takes this profession as a means to earn his daily living. As for begging, it is begging for material assistance by pleading with people in various forms and forms, such as claiming illness or spending the night in the streets. It has become a threat to society and leads to moral and intellectual deviation. This phenomenon has many reasons. It is primarily due to the low economic situation, the high rate of poverty and unemployment, and the effects of wars. This situation is usually very active, usually during the holidays and religious occasions, with the aim of people pleading for them. This phenomenon has many negative consequences represented in the deprivation of children of their basic rights, and it is also well known. This segment of society suffers from various mental illnesses, such as sexual abuse and trafficking in human organs for them and for the various other classes of society, whether women or the elderly. In order to reduce this phenomenon, solutions must be put in place that are represented primarily in the role of the state through its containment of them by providing social security .there must be legal penalties to reduce from this phenomenon

Jasim (the director of the center) , the center organized workshop entitled ( Albiruni and his developing phenomenon ,documentary guides)on Wednesday 14th/6/2023 sited in Nabila A. Dawood gallery in the center . the workshop presented by specialist doctor Dr. Radhi Jawead Baqir Albayati  who defined Albiruni is Abu Alrayhan Mohamad Bin Ahmad Albiruni who was born in Khawarzm in Uzbekistan 937-1048 , he was buried in Gazan in Afganistan .he spoke many languages :Arabic , Persian, Hebrew, Greek ,and  Syriac language  ,in addition to that he was philosopher ,traveler,Astronomer-geographer-mathematician-pharmacist-historian-translator.

Albayati added that Al-Biruni   shed light on the beginning and origin of human described it as one of the ancient subject who discussed ad had taken care of mentioned most important books as the history of india ,the rest heritage of empty centuries , aljamaher fi marefat aljawaher . NASA honored Al-Biruni by placing his name on one of the lunar craters in 1970.

Jasim (the director of the center) the center organized seminar entitled (Mohamed Gani Hikmat and his role in reviving Iraqi heritage) on Monday 12/6/2023 sited in Nabila A. Dawood gallery in the center present by number of professors searchers . the seminar presented by Msc. Teacher Leqaa A. Ashur (one of the professor’s in the center) defined
Mohamad Gani Hekmet was one  Iraqi sculptor embodied Iraqi history by his golden fingers immortalized The tale of a thousand and one nights by status in Baghdad spreading in it Muhammad Ghani Hikmat was born in 1929 in the Kadhimiya neighborhood of Baghdad. He began molding things from the clay he found in his surroundings at the age of only four, and his talent was soon noticed. Muhammad Ghani Hikmat studied under the great artist Jawad Selim at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and graduated from it in 1953, then he was sent to Rome and obtained a diploma in sculpture From the Academy of Fine Arts there in 1955, he spent seven years in Italy, and in 1957 he obtained a diploma in sculpture from the Zacca Institute in Rome, after which he went to Florence and obtained a certificate of specialization in bronze casting in 1961. While in Rome, between the years 1959 And in 1961, Hikmat worked as an assistant to his friend, sculptor Jawad Selim, on the Freedom Monument project in Tahrir Square in Baghdad. Hikmat’s role was to cast the bronze figures for the memorial. After Selim’s premature death in 1961, Hekmat assumed responsibility for completing the project. He passed away in 2011.

The works of Muhammad Ghani Hikmat in the Iraqi heritage

1- Kahramana Statue: The Kahramana Statue is located in a circular square separating the Karrada and Al-Saadoun Streets in 1971.

2- Statue of Shahryar and Scheherazade: Another monument that depicts the main heroes of the stories of One Thousand and One Nights. This statue is located on the Corniche of Abu Nawas Street, overlooking the Tigris River.

3-Al-Mutanabbi Statue: It was inaugurated in 1977 opposite the National Library in central Baghdad.

4-The Magic Carpet Statue: which embodies one of the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, in front of the Ishtar Sherton Hotel, and was completed in 1989 in Baghdad.

5-Baghdad Monument: It is located in Al-Andalus Square

6- The Magic Lantern: or Aladdin’s lamp in Al-Fath Square near the National Theater in Baghdad, which was inaugurated on December 24, 2011.

7-The Iraq Revival Monument: The last works of Muhammad Ghani Hikmat are four: the first is the “Iraq Rises Again” or “Iraq Rescue” monument, which was inaugurated in 2013 after his death.

Jasim (the diorector of the center of heritage revival )  the center organized workshop entitled ( applied maths in Arabic heritage) in the morning of Wednesday 7th /3/2023 where sited in Nabila A. Dawood gallery in the center . it presented by prof. Dr. Readh Saied Lateef (one of the center’s professors /manuscript department ) who talked about math and its applications in addition to mention the way of connecting this science with math  heritage scientists and he tried to choose a sample of 148 ones who is Bahaa Addin Alamely in 16th century or sheikh Albahaie and how he was creator in applicable math , he also defined heritage math and clarify its importance in recent time . he finished the workshop with most important mathly creations and its contributions to develop this science.

Directly commissioned by the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Mounir Hamid Al-Saadi, to establish scientific cooperation between the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage and the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad / Department of Mechanics and Department of Architectural  those cooperated with the  center on Thursday 18/5/2023 under the supervision of Professor Dr. Alaa Nafie Jassim, it is the second meeting regarding the manufacture of heritage devices in modern ways and the development of mechanisms to implement the heritage project in terms of designs, location and cost to serve our ancient university..

Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim , the center of heritage revival in cooperation with the (Women Empowerment Unit )in the presidency of Baghdad university , both of them organized workshop entitled (the  active role of women in saving environment) in the morning of Tuesday 16th/5/2023 , the lecture presented by assist. Prof. Dr. Asmaa Hameed  Rasheed ( university of Nahrain ) who talked about that the world witnesses global warming and ecosystem degradation that is the greatest threatened environment , in addition to add the ways of saving it , finally , the chief of the center thanked the lecturer wishing more successful.

Dr. Alaa Nafea Jasim (the chief of the center) , the center organized workshop entitled ( the effect of social connection in scientific progress) which sited on the hall of the center in the 17th/5/2023 , the lecture presented by assist teacher Mohamad Abdul Kareem (the center of computer /Baghdad university , who defined social sites as an instrument and he added that these sites affect on psychological health specially who suffer from depression , finally , the chief of the center thanked lecturer wished more success..

The Center of heritage revival organizes a seminar

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassim, Director of the Center, the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized a seminar entitled (Ingredients for the success of tourism in the Iraqi marshes) on Monday morning, 4/17/2023, in the presence of a number of professors and researchers, and in the hall of Ms. Nabila Abdel Moneim, The seminar was delivered by Dr. Emtithal Kazem Sarhan, a teacher at our center, who talking about Iraq’s enjoyment of the diversity of its geographical topography, and this gave it the characteristic of distinction in the field of tourism. It must be preserved as a source of natural tourism. Water, reeds, papyrus, and livestock are represented by the diversity of migrating birds and buffaloes, as well as the nature of life in the marshes, all of which are features that ensure preserving them from extinction.

 

The center heritage revival organizes a celebration on World Heritage Day

Under the auspices of the Director of the Center for the Revival of the Arab Scientific Heritage, the Professor Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassim the head of the center orgnizes, the celebration of (World Heritage Day)which  was held on the eighteenth of April, the day approved by the international organization UNESCO in order to protect the global human heritage in all countries of the world To preserve the cultural heritage of the peoples, especially our Arab homeland, including our dear country, which is full of cultural and historical heritage, the fact that Iraq is a cradle of civilizations, and a country rich in a diverse heritage.

 

 

 

 

The Center of revival heritage organizes a workshop

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassim, the cheif of the Center, the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized on Wednesday morning, corresponding to 4/19/2023, in the hall of Professor Nabila Abdel Moneim Daoud, and in the presence of a number of professors and researchers, a workshop entitled (Earthquakes, their causes and methods of prevention Among them) the lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shihab Ahmed Al-Banna from the College of Science, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Baghdad, talking about Earthquakes that are a natural phenomenon occurs daily in specific locations often and in small amounts. Large earthquakes are preceded by relatively small earthquakes, which are precursors to the main earthquake and last for several weeks or months.

a delegation from the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at a university of Baghdad headed by Prof. Dr. Alaa Nafeh Jassim, Director of the Center, visited the house of the investigator, Ms. Nabila Abdel Moneim Daoud, former director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage, where the delegation was briefed on the library The book and manuscripts it contains are of great scientific value. The delegation called for the establishment of a scientific activity. At the end of the visit, Ms. Nabila Abdel Moneim thanked the delegation, wishing more progress…
