Almunam hall in the center presence by number of students from college of education for girls on Wednesday 21<sup>st<\/sup>\/4\/2025 , the lecture is presented by Mr. Ahmad Hashim Ibraheem (the chief of studying department- The Department of Studies and Research and the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage who spoke about the historical overview of the World Heritage approved by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and aims to protect sites of global value, whether natural or cultural, and how to preserve the most important archaeological sites in Iraq, such as the Erbil Citadel, which is considered one of the most important archaeological collections and beautiful landmarks. He also mentioned that World Heritage is an influential element in identity, culture and the environment. It is the memory of humanity throughout the ages and a factor in attracting tourists and contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. It is used as an educational tool to enhance the understanding of history and arts. Therefore, protecting heritage is a shared human duty. The lecturer added that among the sites announced on the preliminary list are the ancient city of Samarra and the ancient city of Babylon, among the archaeological cities included in the World Heritage.
