The character of Assyrian mural art began to become independent and distinct since the Middle Assyrian era in different styles and methods, especially in the affairs of the state and the works of kings. As for religious subjects, it preserved the ancient monuments and Assyrian art took its final character in the modern Assyrian era, as it was dominated by the representation of scenes of war, hunting and royal affairs, which decorated the palaces of kings, such as the siege of cities, the destruction of fortresses, the market of prisoners and the representation of them.
