Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Alaa Nafi Jassim, Director of the Center, the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized on Monday morning, 02\/28\/2024, and in the hall of Professor Nabila Abdel Moneim in our center, a workshop entitled (Water Pollution and its Effects on Humans) The seminar was delivered by A.M.D. Ahmed Mays Sidkhan, University of Baghdad – College of Education for Girls Department of Geography and Anzan gave his lecture (Pollution of Iraqi River Water and its Environmental Impacts) as a speaker The water issue is one of the most important challenges facing Iraq, and water scarcity requires increasing the legislation of plans and implementing water programs to manage it in an integrated manner as a result of the increasing demand for fresh water in light of its decrease on the one hand and the increase in population numbers on the other hand, until fresh water has become one of the foundations of Powers in the politics of the Middle East and the developing world. Water resources in Iraq suffer from various environmental problems, the severity of which has increased at the present time with the decrease in water releases reaching Iraq as a result of the worsening of both natural and human conditions.\u00a0<\/span>And a lecture by Chief Engineer\/ Thamer Diwan Kazem\/Master of Environmental Engineering\/Water Treatment Ministry of Environment\/Technical Department\u00a0It addressed several topics, including defining the phenomenon of water pollution, its multiple causes, and its negative impact on human health and the environment. The types of water pollution and its sources were also reviewed, including the harmful effect on the quality of water resulting from industries such as the oil industry and electric power stations. The presentation also discussed the measures taken to reduce the effects of this pollution, including the preparation of environmental laws and legislation, in addition to adopting modern technologies in water treatment, such as membrane technology. In conclusion, the director of the center thanked the lecturers, wishing them continued success<\/span><\/h4>\n
